Edmonton swaps an offensive defenseman for a defensive defenseman. Both d-men are heading home as Gilbert's from Minnesota and Schultz is from Saskatchewan. Their ages are similar, their cap hits are similar and contract terms are identical with 2 years left after this one. Minnestoa needed more offense, the Oilers more defense so this is a straight hockey trade of needs. Could help both teams.
I'm starting to think TSN just watches Sportsnet and reports their breaking news because they've been about 3 minutes behind on every trade.
