Habs send Gill to Preds for Geoffrion

The Montreal Canadiens will have a ''Geoffrion'' in their lineup again.  Blake Geoffrion, the grandson of Canadiens legend Bernie (Boom Boom) Geoffrion, is on his way to Montreal from Nashville along with a second-round draft pick for defenseman Hal Gill and a conditional fifth-round pick.
The 23-year-old Geoffrion appeared in 22 games for Nashville this season and had three assists. http://msn.foxsports.com/nhl/story/Montreal-Canadiens-Hal-Gill-to-Nashville-Predators-for-Blake-Geoffrion-021712
Shacks' Take:  Is this a precursor of something bigger in Nashville?  I totally understand why Montreal made the move, getting 'Boom Boom's nephew into a Habs uniform can only help build PR for a team desperate for positive news.  But Nashville picking up Gill?  This is a bit of a mystery to me since Nashville's strength is their defense and goaltending yet they gave up a 2nd round pick for more depth on the back end.  Could this mean one of their big two is about to be swapped for the offensive talent that seems to be more of a need for this team.  I'm now intrigued to watch what happens in Smashville over the next 10 days.
