Willes thinks Canucks crowds have gone quiet.

Last week, the Winnipeg Jets came to town with their rabid fans and created a powerful energy in the home of the Canucks.
They stood. They cheered. They clapped. And that was just the warm-up.
When the game started, they made more noise than the Canucks' faithful - and this did not escape the notice of at least one of the Canucks' players. More….
Shacks’ Take:  Ed’s right, I was at the game last night and the moment Phoenix scored their first goal, which was extremely weak, half the air went out of the building.  Once Phoenix tied it, the rest of the air left.
Canuck fans have become spoiled in recent years and it appears crowds demand the home side play extraordinary or they lose interest or get complacent.  The most recent skid only emphasizes the fact because fans are now waiting for the struggles and as soon as they come, the home crowd doesn’t try to lift the team, they fall into a disappointed silence.
To back up the point you need only look at the amount of empty seats and why I got free tickets in the Best Buy Club.  The owner of the seats, much like the hundreds (thousands?) of no shows couldn’t bear to watch the Canucks lose another game.  We’ve become so spoiled here, a skid where we lose three of four games (now four of five) drives the crowds away.  If every city were this fickle there would be empty seats in all the buildings across the NHL, or at least more empty seats.
I’m not here to pass judgment, I’m just saying…
