Matt Flynn to visit Seahawks

Matt Flynn is coming to Seattle.
Whether Green Bay's backup quarterback stays is another question entirely, but the Seahawks are expected to take their first look at a free-agent quarterback when Flynn arrives Thursday.
Seattle had a visit scheduled with free-agent quarterback Chad Henne of Miami, but that was canceled after Henne reached an agreement to sign with Jacksonville on Wednesday evening. That leaves Seattle looking at Flynn, the player many expected to be the Seahawks' priority in free agency.  More…

Shacks’ Take: To those of you excited about the prospects of Matt Flynn as a Seahawk, I offer you the cautionary tale of Kevin Kolb.  A back-up in Philadelphia Kolb came into Arizona as the savior with seven starts on his resume and quickly tanked to the point he was replaced by the immortal Max Skelton.
NFL co-ordiantors need about five games to figure out a QB and game plan for him.  You can never judge a QB until he’s played 10 games and he’s had a chance to play against defenses designed for him.
I’m hopeful the Seahawks can find the QB that can lead them back to the playoffs and beyond but forgive me if I’m not ecstatic about Flynn until I’ve seen a proper sampling of his work.
