Pap thinks the Canucks still need to shore up defense.

VANCOUVER – By the time the Vancouver Canucks' charter aircraft landed in Minneapolis-St. Paul airport Sunday, head coach Alain Vigneault likely had an excellent idea of how his team performed Saturday against the Columbus Blue Jackets, the NHL's worst team.
So let's play mind-reader and pretend we are Coach Vee dissecting on tape the 4-3 nail-biting triumph.
Did we win? Yes, we did. I like that. More…
Shacks’ Take: Pap’s right about this one.  This is the one thing that should be somewhat bothersome to Canuck fans, the way Vancouver has been doling out 2 on 1’s like they’re candy from a Pez dispenser.
Canucks need more of this from Edler and less
getting caught flat-footed.
Even when the Canucks were winning in January and February, they were giving out an alarming amount of odd man rushes but their goaltending was bailing them out.  Lately Lui has struggled and the defense lapses have been more costly and more obvious.  It’s a fundamental part of the game the Canucks should be able to straighten out before the playoffs, it just requires a little more patience and discipline.  If the Canucks can’t fix their timing on pinches, it will likely catch up to them early in the playoffs.
