Tracee Hamilton wonders if Tiger’s back

Finally, after 923 days, there it was, that red-shirted fist pump in the gloaming of a Sunday evening. And you know what that means: Tiger Woods is back.
Well, maybe, maybe not. What is back: the instant and idiotic installation of Woods as the favorite to win the Masters, which is less than a fortnight, er, two weeks away. (Wimbledon owns “fortnight.” All rights reserved. Very reserved.)

Woods looked like his old self Sunday, minus a little hair perhaps. A little older, maybe. A little wiser, one assumes. It was a Woodsian win: He led entering the final round and held off all challengers, including Graeme McDowell, over the final 18 holes to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational by five strokes. It was an impressive performance. It bodes well for the game, and for Woods.
Shacks’ Take:  Is Tiger back, well I for one hope so.
This is the Tiger I want to see again.
Tiger Woods is a generational talent.  Gretzky, Jordan, Woods, all names that were synonymous with greatness.   Unfortunately, injuries and the mental strain of being a cheating scumbag have put his greatness on hold.
I, for one, avidly watched golf when Tiger was on top because there is very few times in your life when you get see a special talent perform.  I really looked forward to the day when he was trying to tie or break all of Jack Nicklaus’ records.  Imagine the excitement if he turned ‘Amen Corner’ with a one-stroke lead and the Majors career wins record on the line?
His personal life is not my concern, I’m not the morality police I’m a huge sports fan that wants to see greatness emerge and things we thought impossible to happen.
With any luck, Tiger rediscovers his lost magic.
