Benjarvus Green- Ellis signs with Cincinnatti – Fantasy Take

There were several things you could count on when Tom Brady [stats] handed the football off to BenJarvus Green-Ellis. First, the ball would usually be advanced. Second, the ball would not be lost — ever.
The Patriots [team stats] will no longer have that kind of dependability in the backfield. While the news already broke via several media outlets yesterday, the Cincinnati Bengals are expected to make it official today when they announce the signing of Green-Ellis to a three-year contract. More…
Shacks’ Take: The law firm of Benjarvis Green-Ellis is your classic ‘3 yards and a cloud of dust’ running back.  There’s no jukin and jiving to his game, like a good lawyers, he’s all business putting his head down and pounding into the line.
Wait until at least the 5th round
for the law firm.
Basically Cincinnati traded one big strong back in Cedric Benson for another one in Green-Ellis.  So what can we expect?  Let’s look at Cedric’s numbers from last year since that’s likely exactly what you will see about 1000 yards rushing and 6 tds.
This would make Green-Ellis a low end RB#2 or a RB#3.  Personally I’d prefer my starters to have more upside but you could likely do worse since he will provide consistent scoring rather than having huge weeks followed by weeks with little production.
We’ll have to wait to see what else happens with the Bengals backfield or if Cincinnati plans on using Bernard Scott more often this year but you know BGE will likely see the goal line love so he definitely is worthy of a mid round draft pick at this point with little upside.
