I
don’t need any commentary for this one just video… and another
angle…
Shacks’ Take: Niklas Kronwall is a force on the blue line and
perhaps the most dangerous hitter in hockey.
He’s almost perfected stepping up on unsuspecting wingers looking back
for a puck coming up the boards. That
doesn’t mean he can’t screw up his timing on occasion and this is one of those
circumstances. If you watch most of
Kronwall’s other hits on the wall, he seems to turn his body and the puck carrier
seems to run into his back, here
or here. Or he hits them in the chest and shoulder, here
or here.
Kronwall
missed his timing on this one though and the point of contact is clearly
shoulder to head. Kronwall is not a
repeat offender but this is a classic example of what the league needs to stop
if the NHL is serious about fighting head injuries. I love watching Niklas ‘Kronwall’ people but
he needs at least a small suspension to remind him where his point of contact
needs to be.
