Lack Not Having Improved Season -

Joking with teammates outside the visitor's dressing room of the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre, Lack looked loose and relaxed. But mention his numbers this season, and the smile faded.

"I think I could play a lot better and I had a little bit better year last year," said Lack, who sports a record of 9-11-3, a goals-against average of 2.66 and a save percentage of .913 in 24 games with the Chicago Wolves. Those numbers are down drastically from last season, in which Lack posted 28 wins, a GAA of 2.26 and a .926 save percentage in 53 games with the Manitoba Moose, former AHL affiliate of the Canucks. http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/Canucks+prospect+Kevin+Connauton+picking+game/6051563/story.html#ixzz1ka0wXUyy
Shack's Take: For those of you suggesting Cory Schneider is the key piece to deal for that power forward or top 4 defenseman better keep this in mind.  Eddie Lack isn't ready for the NHL so who backs up Lui if you let Schneids go?  Until Luongo proves he can keep his head together through 4 rounds of the playoffs a quality back-up is imperative.  Unfortunately from this writer's view, until  Luongo shows the grit needed to push the Canucks over the top, Cory Schneider is untouchable.
