Ferrence Suspended 3 Games

NHL disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan explains the three-game suspension given to Boston's Andrew Ference for his hit on New York's Ryan McDonagh.  http://www.thehockeynews.com/articles/44336-VIDEO-Brendan-Shanahan-explains-Andrew-Ference-threegame-suspension.htmlto

My take:  I know this is yesterdays news but it’s my first day so I’ll go back a day.  Is the Bruins free-reign to heap shot over?  After Last seasons full year of turning a blind eye to anything the Bruins did – right Colin Campbell and Zdeno Chara? – this year started the same with Milan Lucic taking a full run at Ryan Miller with no punishment.  Marchand’s recent 5 game suspension coupled with this 3 game suspension show the league is finally including the Bruins in their desire clean up the game.  Much like Marchand’s suspension the Bruins had a bunch of excuses and thought the punishment was too harsh.  Hey guess what B’s?  You’re not excluded from league punishment anymore.  Get used to it. With the way they play, this won’t be the last time a Bruin faces punishment.
